The project will be coordinated by partner LPO.
The whole consortium will meet once a year; additionally, working groups on specific aspects of the project will hold regular telephone and web conferences. Right at the start of the project, a website will be created by the coordinator in collaboration with group leaders of other Partners to disseminate information to the participants and the public.
The overarching goal of this task is to explore the highest turbulent regimes that are presently accessible from different perspectives
Most of instability mechanisms for layering have been studied for idealized base states flows, and have not considered the specific geometry of a lens-shaped vortex. It thus appears timely to study which instability predominates on a lens-shaped vortex base state, and under which conditions layering will spontaneously appear: this the goal of the present task.
