Coastal Ocean Team
A research team (since 2016) around understanding the dynamics of the coastal ocean
A field of research at the interface between estuaries and coastlines on the one hand and the open ocean on the other
The coastal ocean:
- an area extremely rich in thermal, haline, bathymetric and biogeochemical contrasts,
- the site of intense dynamics on small scales of time and space, which govern most of the coastal-longshore exchanges, retention processes, vertical mixing and, ultimately, the ecosystem.
4 areas of scientific research
- Fine-scale dynamics and the coastal environment
- Extreme (or rare) events and climate change
- Dynamics of boundary layers
- Involvement in research support infrastructures
